Defense of Marriage Act en Kansas Legislator Plans To Take Action Against Gay Marriage <p>As Kansas supporters of gay marriage celebrated two U.S. Supreme Court rulings Wednesday, Republican Congressman Tim Huelskamp said he would take action.<br><br>The Supreme Court struck down a provision of a federal law that denies federal benefits to married gay couples. It also cleared the way for same-sex marriage in California.<br><br>Many Kansas residents celebrated at the rainbow-colored "Equality House" in Topeka.
