New DMV System Hits 2M Mark

After delays and long lines, the new vehicle title and registration system in Kansas has processed more than 2 million transactions.

The state Department of Revenue says the new system replaced a 25-year-old mainframe system. It moved Kansas from a paper-driven process to an electronic one.

KS Continues to Withhold Final Payment for DMV System Upgrades

It could be well into next year before the state of Kansas hands over the final payment for a new vehicle registration system.

The state is withholding 10 percent of the payment to Minnesota-based 3M after a systems upgrade was plagued with problems. Secretary of Revenue Nick Jordan said they've worked through the major issues.

A Kansas legislative committee has ordered an audit of the state’s troubled vehicle registration system.

A new, upgraded system was put in place earlier this year. But problems have caused long lines at some local DMV offices.
