Friday, November 17

Nexus is the new collaborative effort between Steve Howe of Yes and his son, Virgil. Inspired by jazz, classical and rock music, the collection speaks to each musician’s diversity. We’ll hear music from this release as well as from the band Little Barrie, the band Virgil Howe played drums in until his death in September of this year.

Saturday, November 18

The Moral Crossing is the sophomore release from British group Autobahn. We’ll hear music from that recording on this episode as well as selections from the latest by Drew Breskin, Cha-Ching Machine.

Monday, November 20

Acid Tongue is an American-bred garage band heavily influenced by AM-radio soul, folk and psychedelic rock. We’ll hear selections from the band’s latest effort, Babies, on this episode plus music from the debut by Dustin Arbuckle & The Damnations.

Tuesday, November 21

We celebrate the birthday of Dr. John with a variety of selections from throughout his career.

Wednesday, November 22

The Security Project is a group formed by ex- Peter Gabriel drummer Jerry Marotta and former King Crimson member Trey Gunn. The band’s focus from the beginning has been the more obscure corners of the Gabriel discography. We’ll hear selections from The Security Project’s latest, Contact as well as music from The Luxembourg Signal’s new effort, Blue Field.

Thursday, November 23

We team up with Global Village and Night Train for our annual Thanksgiving celebration with music from The Kinks, Mike Keneally and others.

Friday, November 24

One More Crooked Dance is the thirteenth album from singer-songwriter Jules Shear. Recalling the work of Bob Dylan, Randy Newman, Neil Young and others. We’ll hear selections from this new recording as well as songs Shear has written for artists such as The Bangles, Til Tuesday and Cyndi Lauper.

Jedd Beaudoin is host/producer of the nationally syndicated program Strange Currency. He has also served as an arts reporter, a producer of A Musical Life and a founding member of the KMUW Movie Club. As a music journalist, his work has appeared in Pop Matters, Vox, No Depression and Keyboard Magazine.
