April 14/16

Throughout April, Crossroads remembers three special artists who recently passed away, roots of rock legend Chuck Berry, blues harmonica great James Cotton, and blues master Lonnie Brooks. Also for Jazz Appreciation Month, the show highlights the B3 Blues – blues and soul jazz recordings featuring the organ. Gene Ammons, one of the pioneers in introducing the organ into his jazz combos, was born on April 14th and Crossroads highlights his music and a Jazz Profiles Special about him in hour two of the show for the feature. Plus new music, concert previews and more.
