Blues Grammy Nominees, Ruth Brown's Birthday & Big Chief Bo Dollis

Crossroads wraps up its look back at the Best of 2014 by highlighting some of this year’s blues and blues-related Grammy nominees. Plus a birthday salute to R&B great Ruth Brown and a tribute to Bo Dollis, Big Chief of the Wild Magnolias, the first Mardi Gras Indian to commercially record and one of the Crescent City’s great Indian groups.

Chris Heim produces and hosts Global Village, a nationally and internationally distributed world music show; the nightly jazz show Night Train, and Crossroads, KMUW’s twice-weekly blues and R&B show. Chris is also a critic and freelance writer whose work has appeared in the Chicago Tribune, Utne, Global Rhythm, Dirty Linen, and Option, among others.
