Community Group To Host Informational Session On Trump's Executive Orders

A national immigration reform expert will lead an information session in Wichita tonight to answer questions about some of President Donald Trump’s recent orders.

Salvador Cervantes of the Fair Immigration Reform Movement will discuss what Trump’s executive orders and plans for a border wall could mean for the Deferred Action For Childhood Arrivals policy, immigration enforcement and refugee resettlement.

Jan Swartzendruber is a volunteer with Sunflower Community Action, which is organizing the meeting. She says numerous groups are targeted by the new policies, including refugees, undocumented immigrants and Muslims.

“They will be really just wanting the information and wanting more explanation of what’s going on and what it could mean for them," she says.

The informational gathering starts at 6 p.m. at Sunflower Community Action, 1751 N. Ash Ave.
