David Bromberg's Birthday, New Johnny Winter & More Latin Soul/Spanish Blues

September 19/21

This week at the Crossroads, we mark the birthday of blues and roots star David Bromberg, including a concert he did at the Fur Peace Ranch in hour two of the show. Also more for the September Latin Soul/Spanish blues feature – this time from Argentina’s Claudio Gabis, and Mexico’s Real de Catorce – plus music from artists with concerts in the coming week, newly named Kennedy Center honoree Al Green,  and new releases, including Johnny Winter’s final album, Step Back.

Chris Heim produces and hosts Global Village, a nationally and internationally distributed world music show; the nightly jazz show Night Train, and Crossroads, KMUW’s twice-weekly blues and R&B show. Chris is also a critic and freelance writer whose work has appeared in the Chicago Tribune, Utne, Global Rhythm, Dirty Linen, and Option, among others.
