Derby Public Schools
A map shows the location of the future new elementary school in Derby.

Voters in Derby on Tuesday approved funding for a new elementary school.

Three new bond issues in the district were up for a vote, but only one passed.

Along with the new elementary school, the new bond will be used for expanding and renovating older buildings. Voters rejected bonds for a new softball field and a multipurpose facility for the high school.

The approved projects will cost about $114 million.

The average Derby homeowner will see their annual taxes go up about $105.
