State lawmakers from south-central Kansas will be available in the community this weekend for a question-and-answer forum.

The fourth and final legislative forum for the South-Central Kansas Legislative Delegation will take place Saturday at the Wichita State University Hughes Metropolitan Complex from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

The bi-partisan group of state representatives and senators will take written questions from attendees.

Rep. Blake Carpenter expects a wide range of topics to come up.

"I would predict that we’ll probably going to see questions on the budget, probably going to see some questions on education, whether it be on the Common Core curriculum or whether it be funding," Carpenter says.

Carpenter and Sen. Mike O’Donnell served in delegation leadership roles this year and helped organize the forums.

About 12 to 20 lawmakers have participated in the three other forums held in Wichita, Haysville, and Andover. Carpenter says about 50-100 people have attended the forums.

Lawmakers will get back to work in Topeka on April 27 when the legislative session resumes.
