A Final Round From Brown McGhee, 2016 Grammy Hall Of Fame Records & Maple Blues Nominees

November 27/29

This week Crossroads wraps up the month-long celebration of the centennial birthday of Piedmont blues great Brownie McGhee. There are also some special sounds in store as Crossroads highlights the new blues and R&B recordings just named to the Grammy Hall of Fame, and also the newly named nominees for the Maple Blues Awards, the most prestigious of the Canadian blues awards. Plus new releases, classic recordings, and music from artists with regional concerts in the coming week.

Chris Heim produces and hosts Global Village, a nationally and internationally distributed world music show; the nightly jazz show Night Train, and Crossroads, KMUW’s twice-weekly blues and R&B show. Chris is also a critic and freelance writer whose work has appeared in the Chicago Tribune, Utne, Global Rhythm, Dirty Linen, and Option, among others.
