Grammy Lifetime Achievement Finale & Willie Dixon

February 27/March 1

Crossroads highlights music from Willie Dixon, the acclaimed blues bassist, songwriter and producer, who was just named one of this year’s inductees into the Songwriters' Hall of Fame. The show highlights music from Dixon, including early music he did as part of the Big Three Trio, and songs he wrote for Muddy Waters and Buddy Guy – two Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award recipients. Plus new music, artists with concerts in the coming week, and to wrap up the February Grammy Lifetime Achievement feature, a special in hour two devoted to blues icon, Robert Johnson.

Chris Heim produces and hosts Global Village, a nationally and internationally distributed world music show; the nightly jazz show Night Train, and Crossroads, KMUW’s twice-weekly blues and R&B show. Chris is also a critic and freelance writer whose work has appeared in the Chicago Tribune, Utne, Global Rhythm, Dirty Linen, and Option, among others.
