Great Plains Nature Center Says Goodbye To Lorrie Beck

Great Plains Nature Center in Wichita interprets the natural world--of Kansas. The Center's director, Lorrie Beck, retired from her position just recently. Beck has 30 years of federal government environmental-related service in the Peace Corps, the Corps of Engineers and the US Department of Fish and Wildlife. KMUW's Aileen LeBlanc catches up with Beck for a tour of the center and a visit with its creatures . . .

The new director of Great Plains Nature Center is Jim Mason. Mason has worked for Wichita Parks and Rec since 1978 and with Wichita Wild since 1988. He is author of Wichita's Riverside Parks, Pocket Guide to Common Kansas Butterflies and Pocket Guide to Freshwater Mussels.
