Released in 1995 Tomorrow The Green Grass is considered by many critics and fans to the be the Minnesota-based outfit’s finest hour. Boasting songs such as “Miss Williams’ Guitar” and a cover of Grand Funk Railroad’s “Bad Time,” this was also the final release to feature co-founder Marc Olson for nearly two decades. We’ll hear selections from this release as well as brand-new music from Old 97’s.

Twin Solitude is the new recording from Montreal-based singer-songwriter Leif Vollebekk. Influenced by a variety of artists including Joni Mitchell and Bob Dylan, Vollebekk proves himself a writer of remarkable talents on this new release. We’ll hear music from Twin Solitude on this episode plus selections from Sam Patch, the new project from Arcade Fire’s Tim Kingsbury.

Time Sides With No One is the latest release from Dolly Spartans, we’ll hear music from that recording as well as new music from singer-songwriter Valerie June’s latest, The Order of Time.
Tuesday, March 7
Released in 1992 Hollywood Town Hall transformed The Jayhawks from a local and regional phenomenon in Minnesota to a band that had a presence on the national stage. We’ll hear selections from that recording as well as music from the 2001 release by Old 97’s, Satellite Rides.

We celebrate International Women’s Day with music from Joni Mitchell, Mia Doi Todd, PJ Harvey, Valerie June, and many more.
Thursday, March 9
Asked to create an original score to Lotte Reiniger’s 1926 touchstone The Adventures of Prince Achmed, understood to be the oldest surviving full-length animated feature film, Swedish quartet Dungen created one of its most beloved works to date, 2016’s Häxan. The record has just been expanded and reissued as the Swedish group prepares for a U.S. tour during which it will perform the score to the film. We’ll hear selections from Häxan as well as Adrian Younge’s Something About April II.

Listen for music from David Bowie’s 2002 effort Heathen as well as new music from The Jayhawks’ Sound of Lies effort.
Saturday, March 11
We’ll hear music from Pleased To Meet Me, the 1987 album from The Replacements, the group’s first without founding member Bob Stinson, notable for its salute to Box Tops/Big Star frontman Alex Chilton. Plus selections from the latest by Old 97’s.
Monday, March 13
We’ll hear from the brand-new self-titled release from Dirty Projectors and selections from the forthcoming effort by Spiral Stairs, Doris and The Daggers.
Tuesday, March 14
On My Way is the latest recording from Kansas-based trio Split Lip Rayfield we’ll hear music from that effort plus new songs from Laura Marling.
