Home Sales Continue To Rise In Wichita

Wichita home sales should rise by nearly seven percent next year according to Wichita State University’s Housing Market Forecast. As KMUW’s Aileen LeBlanc reports, statewide home prices could also be on the rise…

The 2015 Wichita Housing Market Forecast published by the WSU Center for Real Estate has a bit of a glow for this part of Kansas. 2014 should mark the 4th year in a row for home sales growth in Wichita. New home construction, however, has fallen off due to the expiration of the home property tax rebate program. But housing starts, too, are expect to grow for 2015.

Local home prices are kind of steady right now, not experiencing much rise even though the housing market is thinning.

Statewide, home sales slumped a bit more than in Wichita.
