Night Train marks birthdays of legendary drummer Roy Haynes and trumpeters Terence Blanchard and Blue Mitchell. Plus more music from Wichita Jazz Festival artists for the March feature – including Pat Metheny (guesting with Roy Haynes and Joshua Redman) and also from Sun Ra, the subject of an author event and film at this year’s Fest. Night Train highlights music from a newly released live set from Sun Ra & the Arkestra in hour one, and a Jazz Profiles special about him in hour two of the show.

Plus more music from Wichita Jazz Festival artists for the March feature – this time from Pat Metheny, and the Kandinsky Effect – new music from Dizzy Gillespie and Steve Khan, and salutes to both Larry Coryell and Dave Valentin.
