Karla Burns in Forum Theatre's 'A Christmas Carol'

The Forum Theatre

Tune in on Monday during Morning Edition for Aileen LeBlanc's full interview with the composer, writer, director and cast of A Christmas Carol, as well as some musical numbers, too.

Karla Burns sings "Celebrate the Time" as the jolly Ghost of Christmas Present.

Karla Burns is a Tony-nominated opera singer known for her role as Queenie in Show Boat on Broadway. Burns, who has also starred at The Met and at Carnegie Hall, is now in Wichita performing in The Forum Theatre Company's production of A Christmas Carol for the fourth year.

"I think she is delicious," Burns says of her character. "And I am a Christmas Eve baby so it's lovely to be in the theatre at this time of year."

"I love that I can say to people 'I am the Ghost of Christmas Present' but, in my opinion, I'm everybody's Christmas present."

And she is.

This production is 100% local including:

Director - Kathy Page Hauptman

Composer/Lyricist  -Paul E. Jackson

Book - Conrad Jestmore

Starring:

Shaun Michael Morse as Ebenezer Scooge

and more!
