A newspaper report published over the weekend says a former official at the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services continued to work at the agency even after he faced allegations of sexual harassment.
The Topeka Capital-Journal reports that Brandt Haehn was briefly suspended but not fired after KDADs officials discovered that he was sexually harassing Jennifer Gill, by, among other things, sending her graphic videos.
Haehn was in charge of the KDADs division that oversees the provider organization for which Gill worked.
Gill, who now lives in Tennessee, tells the newspaper that her boss protected Haehn and fired her.
Months later, Haehn accepted a job with Amerigroup, one of three companies that administer KanCare, the state’s multi-billion dollar Medicaid program.
According to the AP, Amerigroup Kansas has since fired Haehn following the accusations.
Haehn didn’t respond to the newspaper’s requests for comment, neither did Amerigroup.
Gill says she decided to go public after her former boss confirmed Haehn’s behavior to a Kansas Human Rights Commission investigator.
