Kierra "Kiki" Sheard Headlining Gospelfest In Wichita

Sunday on Soulsations hear contemporary urban gospel sounds of Detroit native, Kierra "Kiki" Sheard. The Motown Gospel artist grew up around music and the church and started singing at the age of 6. Her father is a bishop and her mother is one of the legendary Clark Sisters. Kiki was featured on two tracks of her mother’s debut solo album Finally Karen in 1997. Kiki has recorded five albums. Her latest release Graceland landed at the top of the gospel charts. Kiki will headline Gospelfest as part of Riverfest in downtown Wichita on Monday, June 6th. 

Carla Eckels is Director of Organizational Culture at KMUW. She produces and hosts the R&B and gospel show Soulsations and brings stories of race and culture to The Range with the monthly segment In the Mix. Carla was inducted into The Kansas African American Museum's Trailblazers Hall of Fame in 2020 for her work in broadcast/journalism.
