On Sept. 4, KMUW aired a story aboutpolicing in Sedgwick County. We took a look at military equipment acquired through the federal government's 1033 program, including a newly acquired armored vehicle. The following story also focuses on policing in Wichita. 

A public meeting was held last week called “No Ferguson Here.” It was in response to the events in Ferguson, Mo, where 18-year-old Michael Brown was shot and killed by police. City officials in Wichita met with citizens to discuss the relationships between area police and the people they serve.

  Shocker Men's Basketball: A Candid Look

The second-ranked Wichita State Shockers continued their winning streak Saturday with a 31-0 record, beating Missouri State. The men made history last week, by becoming the first and only college basketball team to finish 30-0 in a regular season, the same night they clinched the Missouri Valley Conference title. Sports analysts say the undefeated ball players have a genuine sense of brotherhood.
