More Music From Alligator, New Music & Blues Concert Previews

This week’s Crossroads continues the June celebration of Alligator Records' 45th year with music from the new label anniversary compilation, Hound Dog Taylor (the first artist recorded on Alligator) and a tribute album to him later released on the label, along with Alligator releases from Otis Rush, Curtis Salgado, Marcia Ball, Toronzo Cannon, Koko Taylor, Lonnie Brooks, both lineups of the Nightcats, C.J. Chenier, and more. Plus new music from Little Charlie & Organ Grinder Swing, Harmonica Shah, the James Hunter Six, the Mighty Mojo Prophets, and Janiva Magness.

Chris Heim produces and hosts Global Village, a nationally and internationally distributed world music show; the nightly jazz show Night Train, and Crossroads, KMUW’s twice-weekly blues and R&B show. Chris is also a critic and freelance writer whose work has appeared in the Chicago Tribune, Utne, Global Rhythm, Dirty Linen, and Option, among others.
