New Month, New (blues) Music in the Crossroads

April 4/6

It’s New Month, New Music time as Crossroads teams up with Global Village and Strange Currency at the beginning of every month to highlight the best in new releases.

Among the new blues titles featured at the Crossroads are:

The latest from blues star Robert Cray

Local favorites, the Terry Quiett Band

Maple Blues Award winner Matt Anderson

Gospel-blues greats, the Holmes Brothers

Kent Burnside, the grandson of modern-day delta blues master R.L. Burnside

And a long buried gem from John & Sylvia Embry now making its debut on CD.

Chris Heim produces and hosts Global Village, a nationally and internationally distributed world music show; the nightly jazz show Night Train, and Crossroads, KMUW’s twice-weekly blues and R&B show. Chris is also a critic and freelance writer whose work has appeared in the Chicago Tribune, Utne, Global Rhythm, Dirty Linen, and Option, among others.
