New Month/New Music Time At The Crossroads

November 6/8

It’s “New Month/New Music” time as Crossroads teams up with Global Village and Strange Currency at the beginning of every month to highlight the best in new blues releases.

Featured this time at the Crossroads are:

New Chicago blues from Zora Young with Little Mike & the Tornadoes, and Dave Weld & the Imperial Flames

Eric Bibb with a tribute to Leadbelly

Canadian blues favorites Monkeyjunk

Guitarist Doug MacLeod

Blueswomen Karen Lovely, Fiona Boyes and Deb Callahan

And to kick off the November Centennial birthday feature for Brownie McGhee we’ll hear music from him off the new East Coast Blues compilation, and we’ll dip into a new Blind Boy Fuller compilation to hear music from an artist who was a big influence on McGhee

Plus lots of the best of recent titles from Buddy Guy, Shemekia Copeland, Gregg Allman, Tommy Castro, Dave & Phil Alvin, and more.

Chris Heim produces and hosts Global Village, a nationally and internationally distributed world music show; the nightly jazz show Night Train, and Crossroads, KMUW’s twice-weekly blues and R&B show.
