Wednesday, June 25: Hypnotic Eye is the upcoming release from Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, marking the band’s 13th studio effort and a return to its 70’s roots. We’ll hear songs from the album on this episode of Strange Currency, along with selections from Lonely Ones, the latest release by Oklahoma singer-songwriter Graham Colton.

Thursday, June 26: Listen for selections from Body of Song, the 2005 effort from June featured artist Bob Mould. After announcing in 1998 that he was setting aside his trademark guitar-driven sound for electronic music, Mould returned to his earlier, singer-songwriter ways for a record that encompassed the many facets of his recording career. We’ll also hear selections from Songs For Slim, a 2013 tribute to former Replacements guitarist Slim Dunlap, featuring contributions from Patterson Hood of Drive-By Truckers, the band Lucero, and Jeff Tweedy of Wilco.

Friday, June 27: We’ll hear selections from the new self-titled album by The Mischief Makers, a band featuring singer-songwriters Shane Marler and Nikki Moddelmog, plus music from Smile, the 2000 album from Minneapolis, Minnesota’s The Jayhawks. The record, along with two others, is being reissued in July.

Saturday, June 28: We’ll hear selections from Midnight Souvenirs, the 2010 album by J. Geils frontman Peter Wolf. The album includes guest appearances from Merle Haggard and Neko Case and Shelby Lynne.

Monday, June 30: We’ll preview our July featured artists, Jackson Browne and John Hiatt with selections from Browne’s 1983 release Lawyers In Love, arguably the most commercial sounding record he’s recorded in a career that spans back to the late 1960s and from Hiatt’s 1987 classic, Bring The Family, which found the Indiana native reflecting on marriage, fatherhood, and his newfound sobriety.
