December 26/28

This week’s Crossroads highlights music from artists with regional New Year’s Eve concerts, and celebrates birthdays of Ziggy Modeliste of the Meters, Charles Neville of the Neville Brothers, and R&B impresario Johnny Otis.

Plus Ed Palermo’s tribute to the Paul Butterfield Blues Band - newly named inductees into the Rock Hall of Fame, a tribute to Stax singer Wendy Rene, and new music from Bill Frisell and Maple Blues Awards nominee Harpdog Brown.

Chris Heim produces and hosts Global Village, a nationally and internationally distributed world music show; the nightly jazz show Night Train, and Crossroads, KMUW’s twice-weekly blues and R&B show. Chris is also a critic and freelance writer whose work has appeared in the Chicago Tribune, Utne, Global Rhythm, Dirty Linen, and Option, among others.
