Remembering Jazz Giant Ornette Coleman And More From The Guitar Month Feature

Monday 6.15.15

Tonight on the Night Train, we'll celebrate the birthdays of  pianist Jaki Byard and pianist/composer Erroll Garner, including a Jazz Profiles special on Garner in the second half of the show. We'll hear from more jazz guitarists to celebrate guitar month, and we'll feature favorite tracks all week from jazz giant Ornette Coleman, who died last week at the age of 85.

  Tuesday 6.16.15

Night Train will feature music from jazz trumpeter and flugelhorn player Tom Harrell to mark his birthday, and new music from Jeff 'Tain' Watts and Charles Lloyd. We'll also hear more from the Guitar Month feature, and from recently departed jazz legend Ornette Coleman.

Wednesday 6.17.15

Tonight on Night Train we'll hear new music from drummer Jeff 'Tain' Watts, plus tunes from Dave Brubeck and Joshua Redman who is currently touring with The Bad Plus. Also more celebrating the life and music of Ornette Coleman.
