Sedgwick County Tag Offices Implement Virtual Line System

Sedgwickcounty.org

Customers can spend less time waiting at the tag office with Sedgwick County’s recently implemented Virtual Wait Line Management System.

The $50,000 system, called QLess, was launched two weeks ago at all four tag offices in Sedgwick County: Derby, Maize, Wichita’s downtown office and the Brittany tag office at 21st and Woodlawn. It’s the same system used to create a virtual waiting line for driver’s licenses throughout the state of Kansas.

Sedgwick County Treasurer Linda Kizzire says using a mobile device, you can reserve a spot in line by following the prompts on the county's website.

"We get a lot of feedback on people not wanting to wait or needing to take care of other business instead of just sitting at the tag office," Kizzire says. "So this provides people with the opportunity to go ahead to get their space in line and get reminders of how much longer they have to wait. If they have to run errands it provides them with that time."

Kizzire says users can view forecasted wait times and the number of people already in line at different tag offices.
