I Can Destroy is the latest release from guitarist Paul Gilbert. Known for his work as a solo artist and with the bands Racer X and Mr. Big, Gilbert touches on a variety of styles on his latest solo offering with songs informed by his unique sense of humor. We’ll hear selections from I Can Destroy on this episode of the show as well as music from Scambot 2 the new release by Mike Keneally.

Singularity is the new release from Wichita-based band Standing In The Colour. We’ll hear selections from it on this episode of the show as well as music from Domesticated by Spirit of the Stairs. 

Thursday, July 28

At the urging of her friend Mike Watt, Petra Haden set out to cover The Who’s classic LP The Who Sell Out in its entirety. The only catch was that she would do it entirely a capella. Released a decade ago, Petra Haden Sings The Who Sell Out has just been reissued by the vocalist. We’ll hear selections from that recording as well as from Haden’s record with her sisters under the name The Haden Triplets.

Listen for music from Loud Hailer, the latest release by Jeff Beck as well as selections from his work with Rod Stewart. 

Saturday, July 30

Released in 1975 the self-titled album by Old and In The Way has become a classic in American bluegrass circles. We’ll hear selections from it on this episode of the show along with music from Old and In The Way member Jerry Garcia’s 1976 solo effort Reflections.

Jedd Beaudoin is host/producer of the nationally syndicated program Strange Currency. He has also served as an arts reporter, a producer of A Musical Life and a founding member of the KMUW Movie Club. As a music journalist, his work has appeared in Pop Matters, Vox, No Depression and Keyboard Magazine.
