SNL Alum Bill Hader Is Bringing His Eccentric Brand Of Comedy To WSU
On Saturday, March 8, comedian Bill Hader will spend the evening engaging in a humorously moderated conversation at WSU's Hughes Metroplex. The event, co-sponsored by the Student Activities Council and the Student Government Association, is a chance to showcase Hader's impressive comedic abilities through clips, an interview and a Q&A.
Hader, who left Saturday Night Live after eight seasons, has been described by the comedy site Splitsider as a comedic chameleon who's "made himself indispensable by delivering consistently accurate impersonations."
Along with his celebrity impressions, he has created a whole host of recurring characters with the most famous being Stefon Volesky, a flamboyant Weekend Update character who directs tourists to incredibly esoteric NYC locales.
While on SNL, Hader was also able to build up an impressive resume by appearing in comedy films like Superbad, Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, as well as being a writer on Comedy Central's "South Park."
There's no shortage of great Bill Hader sketches since he joined the SNL cast alongside Andy Samberg, Kristen Wiig and Kansas native Jason Sudeikis during the 2005-06 season. In no particular order, here are some of our favorite sketches in recent years.
