UPDATE: What's Closed Because of Tuesday's Winter Storm?

Update: Wichita State University has canceled classes for Wednesday.  

Update: Wichita Public Schools will be closed on Wednesday, Feb. 5th.

Update: Southwestern College has decided to close all campuses today, including its main Winfield campus.

The snow storm we've been preparing for is finally here. Almost all schools in the area are closed, as well as universities and many larger employers.

Closings on Tuesday, February 4:

K-12 Schools:

All Wichita Public Schools.

In addition, the All-City Orchestra dress rehearsal and concert scheduled for Tuesday evening - as well as all athletic events - will be rescheduled.

USD 259 employees--with the exception of snow removal crews and district security officers--should stay home.

Wichita Catholic Schools, Wichita Independent and the Wichita Montessori schools are also closed today, as well as most public schools in the surrounding area.

Colleges and universities:

Wichita State University, Friends University, Butler Community College, KU School of Medicine Wichita, WATC, Cowley College (all campuses), Southwestern College (all locations), and Vatterott College are closed today.

Area business and government agencies:

Meals on Wheels is not delivering in Wichita today.

Beechcraft is asking all 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift employees, plus all non-essential personnel, to stay home.

Wichita Public Libraries will close at 5pm today.
