What's On: January 5
Tom Kimmel is the quintessential singer/songwriter. His compositions have been recorded by dozens of musicians including Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Linda Ronstadt, Joe Cocker and Randy Travis… so many more. Tom is also a popular performer in alt-acoustic and folk circles, whether a solo act, performing with friends or as part of the Sherpas (with Tom Prasada-Rao and Michael Lille.) He's been at the Old Settlers Inn many, many times since the series started in the mid-90s. Always an audience-favorite in any configuration.
Here's Tom singing his tune "Blue Train" which was covered by Linda Ronstadt. Sorry Linda, I like Tom's version better!
And here's one of my favorite tunes, co-written by Tom and Buddy Mondlock. Both perform it beautifully. This is Tom – from the studio, not live. Still wonderful.
