Roads, bars, and restaurants in Wichita will be busy this afternoon and evening, not only because of St. Patrick's Day, but also because KU, K-State and Wichita State are all scheduled to play in the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament.

At a news briefing this morning, Sgt. Nikki Woodrow with Wichita Police Department encouraged everyone to be safe, and to avoid drinking and driving.

“We suggest using cabs, Uber or designated drivers," Woodrow said. "Remember celebrating our Kansas basketball team wins and St. Patrick’s Day today is not worth your freedom if you are put in jail for a DUI, or your life, or someone else's life, if you are in an accident.”

Woodrow says Wichita police will have extra officers on patrol in Old Town and on the roads tonight.
