April is Jazz Appreciation Month (JAM) and this year JAM is featuring several artists as part of the celebration, among them vibes pioneer Lionel Hampton. Throughout the month, Night Train teams up with Strange Currency and Straight No Chaser to join in the festivities with "Good Vibes Month" highlighting music of Hampton and many other great, forgotten, and rising stars of the vibes.

When I Left Home: My Story by Buddy Guy (DaCapo Press) The newly named Kennedy Center honoree offered a surprisingly readable look back at his life here, including a vivid account of the tough times he faced at first in Chicago and intriguing portraits of some of the blues legends whose paths he crossed on the way to become one himself.
