Night Train highlights music from organists Tony Monaco and Brian Ho, Arturo Sandoval’s tribute to mentor and jazz great, Dizzy Gillespie, and trombonist SteveTurre’s salute to his mentor, Woody Shaw. Plus Italian jazz from saxophonist and clarinetist Gianluigi Trovesi and from Chet Baker’s “Italian Sessions,” and great jazz vocalists Nina Simone, Joe Williams and Shirley Horn.

Hear music from featured artist Grant Green; birthday tributes to Charnett Moffett, Jonathan Kreisberg and Joao Gilberto; and two impressive new vocal albums from singers separated by over six decades in age – Cecile McLorin Salvant and Carline Ray in a project produced by her daughter Catherine Russell.

Not that we really needed an excuse, but with June 6th as his birthday, Night Train and Straight No Chaser will spend the month of June celebrating the music of Grant Green.
