Now through September 1, Kechi Playhouse presents Not Now Darling. The play is set in the exclusive London fur salon of Bodley, Bodley, and Crouch, where Crouch struggles to keep things above board while his partner, Mr. Bodley, tries to secure the affections of a would-be mistress by “selling” her husband an expensive mink coat for a fraction of its real worth. Clothes, furs and scruples all fly out the window in this fast-paced and witty farce.
Throughout August the Crown Uptown presents Spring Awakening. Winner of eight 2007 Tony Awards, including those for best musical, direction, book and score, Spring Awakening is a rock musical adaptation of the controversial 1891 German play by the same name. Set in late-19th century Germany, it concerns teenagers who are discovering the inner and outer tumult of transitioning to adulthood.
