The mid-terms are near. Drop by Evergreen between October 15 and November 2nd and cast a vote for your favorite book character. For ages 4-11.

This self-guided exhibit explores U.S. immigration through documents, maps, and images, sharing stories of people who came by force or choice and how they shaped the nation.

The Wichita Toy Train Club is sponsoring their 32nd Annual Toy Train Show on October 24 and 25, 2026 at the Textron Aviation Employee Club 2744 George Washington Blvd. The show is open on Saturday from 9:00am to 5:00pm and on Sunday from 10:00am to 3:00pm. We will have vendors from the tri-state area that are offering their trains and related items for sale. We will also host clubs from the local area to demonstrate their train layouts. Concessions will be avaible on site. The admission is $8 for adults and free for children under 13 years. So bring the kids out for a day of fun.

Join us for Haunted Bookstore Day 2026, where we celebrate the dark, scary and macabre across genres!

We'll have Haunted Bingo at 10:30am and 2:30pm. 10:30am will be for ages 18+ only, and 2:30 all ages are welcome! Tickets are $5 and you'll receive a $5 off coupon after attending.

We'll have a children's costume contest at 11:00am and adult costume contest at 11:30am.

We'll have Horror Trivia at 4:00pm - brush up on horror movie and book trivia to take home the Grand Prize! Tickets are $15 and you can add on a drink ticket for a discounted specialty cocktail!

Join us for a special event to view USD259 K-12 students’ artwork on display at the Wichita Art Museum! Exhibition on Display: September 19 – November 29, 2026

Submission to the USD259 Student Art Gallery is coordinated by Wichita Public Schools. Entries are selected by participating teachers, and individual students should contact their teacher for participation details.

Learn about the art of leather tooling as you make your own bracelet in a hands-on workshop led by Winfred Rembert, Jr., the son of Winfred Rembert (1945–2001), who pictured Black life in the Jim Crow–era South on carved and tooled leather paintings. His 'Chain Gang Picking Cotton #3' (2005) is one of the newest additions to WAM’s permanent collection, on view—for the first time—in 'Past & Present: Celebrating New Acquisitions and Collection Highlights at the Wichita Art Museum'.
