Advance Voting Problems Arise At Sedgwick County Zoo

Some people who went to the Sedgwick County Zoo for advance voting in Wichita on Tuesday experienced problems when trying to vote. Sedgwick County Election Commissioner Tabitha Lehman says the problem was not with the voting machines.

"The problem was a networking issue and we are still working to resolve that networking issue out at the zoo. But the work around that we are doing is... the board workers are calling our office and checking, giving us the name and address of the voter and we are looking them up and then the board worker is able to then check that person in and allow them to vote," she says.

The voting site in Bel Aire–just north of Wichita also had some computer networking issues. Lehman says the election office is working with that site in the same manner. A list of the advance voting locations is available at sedgwickcounty.org/elections.
