Travelers will soon be able to fly nonstop from Wichita to Seattle.
Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport announced today that Alaska Airlines will begin offering nonstop service to Seattle starting April 13, 2017. The airline will have one roundtrip flight per day, seven days a week.
Wichita Mayor Jeff Longwell said in a news release that the added trip will benefit the city’s aviation businesses in particular. Boeing closed its Wichita facilities in 2014, but aviation companies like Spirit AeroSystems continue to manufacture parts for the company, which has a factory in Seattle.
Alaska will be the Wichita airport’s sixth airline.
