Candlelight Vigil, Fundraiser For Nepal Sunday

The Nepalese Student Association, together with Wichita Nepalese Community, the WSU Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and the American Red Cross is holding a candlelight vigil in honor of those affected by the devastating earthquake in Nepal.

The death toll from the earthquake that struck Nepal last Saturday has passed 6,000, and many thousands are still unaccounted for. The candlelight vigil will be a fundraiser for the survivors, and 100 percent of the proceeds will go to the Wichita Nepalese Community Earthquake Relief Fund.

Participants are asked to wear white shirts to the vigil and bring their own candles. A limited number of candles and shirts with "Help Nepal" written across the front will be for sale.

The vigil will be held at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, May 3, on the east side of the Rhatigan Student Center on the Wichita State University campus.
