Celebrating Bowie, Prince And The Best Of 2017

Monday, January 8

We remember David Bowie, born on January 8, 1947 with selections from throughout his career as well as covers of his songs from Winery Dogs, Spoon, Nirvana and others. We’ll also hear music from Bowie collaborators such as Earl Slick, Reeves Gabrels and Adrian Belew. 12

Tuesday, January 9

Listen for selections from the 2017 reissue of Prince and The Revolution’s Purple Rain as well as Best of 2017 music from Andre Cymone, Bash & Pop and St. Vincent.

Wednesday, January 10

We’ll hear music from St. Vincent’s 2017 LP Masseduction plus Best of 2017 music from Aaron Lee Martin, The Replacements and Gizmodrome.

Thursday, January 11

Listen for music from Aimee Mann’s 2017 album Mental Illness as well as Bash & Pop’s Anything Could Happen.

Friday, January 12

We’ll hear music from Adrian Belew’s 1990 album Young Lions plus examples of his more recent work with Gizmodrome and the Adrian Belew Power Trio.

Saturday, January 13

What Happens Next is the brand-new album from guitarist Joe Satriani. For this latest effort, the Long Island-born musician teams with Red Hot Chili Peppers/Chicken Foot drummer Chad Smith and former Deep Purple vocalist/bassist Glenn Hughes for 12 instrumental tracks. Listen for music from that recording as well as selections from Wrong Creatures the latest by Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.

Listen for selections from Shake The Cage, the 2017 album from singer-songwriter Freddie Nelson as well as live music from Big Star.
