Chuck Berry & Buckwheat Zydeco Finale + Remembering Phil Chess

October 28/30

Crossroads wraps up the October feature celebrating the 90th birthday of Chuck Berry and remembering zydeco star Buckwheat Zydeco (including a special in hour two of the show with Buckwheat Zydeco as a special guest). The show also remembers Phil Chess, one of the founders of Chess Records, who just passed away, highlights music from blues artists with concerts in the coming week, and spotlights some of the best of new blues releases.

Chris Heim produces and hosts Global Village, a nationally and internationally distributed world music show; the nightly jazz show Night Train, and Crossroads, KMUW’s twice-weekly blues and R&B show. Chris is also a critic and freelance writer whose work has appeared in the Chicago Tribune, Utne, Global Rhythm, Dirty Linen, and Option, among others.
