Earth, Wind & Fire Releases First Album Of Christmas Songs

Album Cover Art

Sunday, November 30:

For the first time ever, legendary band Earth, Wind & Fire produces their first album of Christmas songs.  The 13-track set called Holiday features songs such as  “Joy to the World,” “Winter Wonderland," and “Jingle Bell Rock.”  Two of the  songs were inspired by well-known EWF classics: “Happy Seasons” (the 1975 album track “Happy Feelin”) and “December” (1978’s “September”). The latter tune features a duet of lead singer and co-founder Philip Bailey with the original master vocals of co-founder Maurice White.

“We stretched the envelope a bit on several songs, changing the harmonic structures and rhythms --kind of what we did with the Beatles' ‘Got to Get You Into My Life,’” says Bailey in an interview with Billboard. “It’s Christmas songs but still EWF-esque.”
