Howlin' Wolf/Leroy Carr Birthdays, More Alligator & Lots O' Concert Previews

June 10/15

Crossroads marks birthdays of blues greats Howlin’ Wolf (June 10) and Leroy Carr (June 12) this week. Plus more music for the June feature celebrating the 45th anniversary of Alligator Records. Artists featured this time include Fenton Robinson, Albert Collins, Son Seals, Saffire – the Uppity Blues Women, Smokin’ Joe Kubek & Bnois King, Koko Taylor, Pinetop Perkins and more.

New releases featured this week include the studio debut of the Corey Dennison Band, more previously unreleased live ‘60s sounds from John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers, a live set from Johnny Winter with special guest Dr. John, and a preview of the new album from Royal Southern Brotherhood that will be out later this month.

And there’s lots of local and regional blues concerts in the coming week and Crossroads will highlight music from those artists as well.
