It’s A Crossroads Holiday Special

December 18/20

Crossroads gets ready for the holidays with a special show featuring new blues holiday music from Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings, the Bey-Paule Band, Eugene Hideaway Bridges, and a new Blues Christmas compilation in the first hour of the show.

Then in hour two, a special about one of the all-time favorite holiday recordings, A Christmas Gift for You. The show offers the inside story behind the classic 1963 album of that name that featured The Ronettes, The Crystals, Darlene Love, Bob B. Soxx & the Blue Jeans, and Phil Spector behind the board to provide his famous ‘wall of sound’ - with insights from singers Darlene Love and LaLa Brooks, musicians Nino Tempo, Don Randi and Hal Blaine, and host Anthony DeCurtis.

Chris Heim produces and hosts Global Village, a nationally and internationally distributed world music show; the nightly jazz show Night Train, and Crossroads, KMUW’s twice-weekly blues and R&B show. Chris is also a critic and freelance writer whose work has appeared in the Chicago Tribune, Utne, Global Rhythm, Dirty Linen, and Option, among others.
