Night Train celebrates birthdays of guitarists Dave Stryker and Ximo Tebar, and singers Astrud Gilberto and Norah Jones – plus more music from March featured artist Joe Lovano (including guest appearances with ‘new tango’ pianist Pablo Ziegler and with Dr. Lonnie Smith on his new album and on the 1975 release Afrodesia, which was Lovano’s first appearance on record) and new music from Brian Andres & the Afro-Cuban Jazz Cartel, saxophonist Ernie Krivda, singer Karrin Allyson, and drummers Peter Erskine and Herlin Riley.

Night Train wraps up the March feature of music from Joe Lovano with a guest appearance he made with Mose Allison, as part of the ScoLoHoFo lineup, and with his Nonet on 52nd Street Themes. Plus a birthday salute to vibes and marimba pioneer Red Norvo (with a tribute from Gary Burton and a Jazz Profiles special in hour two of the show); a new, previously unreleased live performance from Sarah Vaughan; and music from artists with upcoming local and regional concerts.
