Kansas City-Based Real Estate Company To Build $40M Hospital In Derby

A Kansas City-based real estate company is planning to build a $40 million hospital in Derby.

CBC Real Estate Group of Kansas City should break ground on a 65,000 square-foot hospital later this year. It will be located at the north end of Derby.

The company says the facility, which will be called Rock Regional Hospital, will have a surgical emphasis, with 12 inpatient medical beds, 12 surgical beds, and six intensive care unit beds. The hospital is expected to employ about 125 people.

The company will also be constructing a large medical office building nearby.

The hospital will be operated by Texas-based Candor Healthcare. Officials with CBC Real Estate Group say that the facility will help fill a medical coverage gap in the Derby area.

Rock Regional Hospital is expected to be operational by 2018.
