Kansas GOP Delegates Line Up Behind Presidential Nominee Donald Trump

Kansas Republican Party Chairman Kelly Arnold says it has been an exciting week at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland leading up to GOP nominee Donald Trump's speech tonight.

Arnold says the convention has been jam-packed with meetings, speeches and fun times, like when the media swirled around former Kansas Sen. Bob Dole, who mingled with delegates from his home state. Arnold says Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, who won the March Kansas caucus by an overwhelming majority, actually gave a very good speech Wednesday night, but there was strong disappointment when the former presidential candidate left the stage without giving an endorsement.

"A lot of [convention attendees] were Ted Cruz supporters, but they are now supporting Donald Trump for president, and we really wanted to see that out of Ted Cruz as well," Arnold says.

He has high expectations for Trump's speech tonight.

"Finding out what exactly is his vision for America," he says. "I expect to hear and see strong leadership."

Arnold says he plans to drive home the Republican message to fellow Kansans to beat presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton in November.
