A Last Round With Alligator And Living Blues Awards Nominees

Crossroads wraps up the June feature, celebrating the 45th anniversary of Alligator Records. Among the highlights, music from Alligator artists just nominated in the 2016 Living Blues Awards – including Shemekia Copeland, Lil’ Ed & the Blues Imperials, Marcia Ball, Tommy Castro, Jimmy Johnson, Lurrie Bell, Charlie Musselwhite, and Janiva Magness. Plus new music from Brad Vickers & His Vestapolitans, Big Harp George, and Stax legend William Bell.

Chris Heim produces and hosts Global Village, a nationally and internationally distributed world music show; the nightly jazz show Night Train, and Crossroads, KMUW’s twice-weekly blues and R&B show. Chris is also a critic and freelance writer whose work has appeared in the Chicago Tribune, Utne, Global Rhythm, Dirty Linen, and Option, among others.
