Sedgwick County Emergency Communications will have a non-emergency phone line available for those pesky problems that often go on during late night revelry on New Year's Eve. KMUW's Aileen LeBlanc reports . . .
Problems with noisy neighbors, fireworks, loud parties or other nuisances that do not pose a threat to life or property should be reported to 290-1011.
The special line will be open between the hours of 11pm on Wednesday, Dec. 31 and 3am on Thursday, Jan. 1st.
290-1011 will function as an alternative to 911 for non-emergency calls only.
Emergency situations should still be quickly dialed to 911; but the alternative number may help reduce the load of calls on a busy night which could, in turn, increase the efficiency of 911 responders for real emergencies.
The non-emergency number is 290-1011.
