Remembering Daryl Coley

Sunday, March 20

Sunday on Soulsations, we remember minister and dynamic male vocalist, Daryl Coley.  He died last week at the age of 60.  Coley has been called one of the greatest men to ever sing gospel music by his peers.  The Grammy-nominated and multiple Stellar award-winning artist is known for such songs as "When Sunday Comes" with the Tri-City Singers, "He’s Preparing Me" with the Wilmington-Chester Mass Choir and "I Can’t Tell It All".  The iconic gospel singer began his career working with Edwin Hawkins, Walter Hawkins, Tramaine Hawkins and Rev. James Cleveland; He also collaborated with Nancy Wilson and Ramsey Lewis.  In 1992, Coley was a featured voice on Quincy Jones’ Handel’s Messiah: A Soulful Celebration on the "Hallelujah" chorus. BMI honored Coley with the Trailblazers of Gospel Salute in 2014.
