The search for Wichita’s next police chief continues.
Wichita Mayor Jeff Longwell says the list of candidates for police chief has been narrowed down to five, including interim Police Chief Nelson Mosley. Longwell says a committee will conduct the next round of interviews next week.
A public forum will allow the community to weigh in. City Manager Bob Layton is expected to hire the next police chief sometime in September.
“They will narrow those 5 down to two and then release those two names to the public because then we will hold some public style interviews of some nature,” he says.
